Are you currently or wanting to be an Infrastructure Manager within a Digital Services group.
If so we are looking for you, to be a “hands-on” engineer that will mainly be responsible for Infrastructure and Storage Engineering as well as Monitoring and Support. You will also ensure that the storage and infrastructure is architected properly to align with business and solution/application needs as defined by the Digital Services group.
You will also be responsible for storage and infrastructure planning, design and installation at office locations and data center locations.
Roles and Responsibilities
• Member of Technology Solutions team responsible for design, build-out, implementation and operations technology powering the Digital Services group
• Manage and participate in the design, build-out and operations for the storage and infrastructure components of the Digital Services group – e.g. availability, functionality, performance, scalability, security, and reliability with realistic implementation schedules and adherence to architectural goals and principles
• Ensure that infrastructure and storage capabilities support business and production systems objectives and key performance metrics
• Define/confirm key processes, organisation structure, resource requirements, tool requirements, key performance metrics and management processes for each of the functional areas within their responsibility
• Lead and drive solutions delivery activities as they arise
• Operate with a commitment to embracing emerging trends, operations and technologies that are applicable to a Digital Distribution business
Skills/Experience
• Extensive years experience with Systems Engineering. Specific focus on building network and high performance SAN solutions. Familiarity with EMC and DDN arrays a plus.
• Experience implementing fabric and data networks including configuring SAN switches and various network devices (e.g. firewalls, switches, etc).
• Intermediate to expert knowledge of the Quantum Stornext filesystem (SNFS) and Xsan
• Intermediate to expert knowledge with backup software and LTO tape libraries
• Intermediate to expert knowledge of RHEL 5 and OS X
• Intermediate to expert knowledge of WAN acceleration products such as Aspera
• Intermediate to expert knowledge in at least one UNIX scripting shell
• Experience with server virtualisation technologies (e.g. VMware, Hyper-V, etc).
• Experience interacting with and managing positive vendor relationships
• Analytical and problem solving skills, particularly as it relates to network, infrastructure and systems design
• Strong skills with project management and delivery
• Ability to view operations from a customer perspective and report to various executives, customers and stakeholders related to operational status and issues
• Strong interpersonal, leadership and team building skills
• Excellent verbal and written communication to all levels in the organization
• Ability to learn new trends, operations and technologies that are applicable to a Digital Services business
• Experience in the Media & Entertainment (Broadcast and/or Post Production) industry preferred
